To complement and enhance the healing effects the specific Chiropractic manipulative treatment Dr. Gill performs, we at Premier Chiropractic also provide the following physiological therapeutic procedures:
Mechanical traction are tables that the patient lies down on, either on their back or face down, depending on which therapy the doctor decides would be most beneficial for their condition. There are a few different types of traction tables.
For patients suffering from low back pain, there is Lumbar Traction, which is designed to specifically target the lumbar curve, restoring your lumbar spine to it’s appropriate degree of curvature. Cervical Traction is designed for the cervical curve, helping to reduce neck tension and is especially beneficial for headache sufferers. Each of these machines has rollers that are brought up under your back, helping to reduce tension, break up scar tissue, hydrate discs, and bring new blood and fluids to the area, helping your body to heal faster. We also provide full spine traction, that is a table without specific attachments for either cervical or lumbar treatments, and is just overall traction for the entire spine.
Moist heat therapy provides natural pain relief and otherwise may soothe skin and underlying body parts. Common forms include taking a hot bath, a hot shower, wrapping a hot towel around a strained or painful muscle and using electric or other heating pads for relief. The use of hot springs or more formal bathing places with heat moisture has given mankind relief for thousands of years, with Roman baths perhaps the most famous of these and Native Americans using hot springs. At our clinic we use the latest techniques and tools to help you gain relief through the power of moist heat therapy.
Cryotherapy (ice therapy) is a term that describes the application of ice, cold towels, ice massage and compresses to reduce the temperature of tissues directly on or below the surface of the skin.
How does ice therapy work?
Surface cooling constricts blood vessels, numbs painful areas, and helps relax muscle spasms. Cold temperatures reduce nerve transmission of painful symptoms and provide relief.
